This artist loves to work in wood, above life-size, his work is characterised by a high standard of research, detail and realism.

Best known for the 'Longitude' sculpture now in the collection of Felix Dennis, poet, publisher and patron of the arts.

Other works include an above life-size interacting pair of figures of Robert Louis Stevenson and his alter ego, Long John Silver . (See bottom right picture of this page)

He also carved the Victory Crown for the new State Gold Coach "Britannia" in timber from HMS Victory; presented to the Queen to mark her 80th Birthday and shortly to be transfered to the Palace for adoption into the fleet in time to celebrate her Majesties Jubilee. (Pictures left and right)

He is presently carving a portrait bust of Prof. Sir Arnold Wolfendale FRS, X1V Astronomer Royal for the National Portrait Gallery. (Picture this page, top right)

He turned to PORTRAIT work when too ill for heavy carving  (now resolved) and to this end has an upcoming exhibition of 35 delicate portraits titled

THE EYES HAVE IT

These eyes are featured either for their beauty, appeal or for the incredible events they have witnessed .
