A
WOODCARVERS VIEW OF THE FIGUREHEAD OF THE 'RESOLUTION'
By OH Boyd
There
has been much argument about the subject of the figurehead of Capt.
Cook's second ship, the 'Resolution'. In this detailed paper which draws
together much of the history of figureheads of that period and compares
it with the drawings done by the ships artists who sailed with Cook,
together with comparisons of contemporary ships. OH Boyd believes that
there is no doubt as to the subject.
