PUBLISHED WORK

OH Boyd currently writes for "Woodcarving" magazine.  His latest works are a series of beginners guide to whittling describing techniques and tips, also giving projects for the novice to tackle in a stage by stage way

The above picture shows the figures of Robert Louis Stevenson and his creation Long John Silver adorning the entrance to "Highfield" at the home of Felix Dennis the Poet and publisher.

OH Boyd has written a book of poetry, centred around Lincolnshire, Life, Love and the beautiful Ancholme valley.

This book is presently being illustrated by the brilliant North Country artist Karen Devereux whose stunning work he very much admires and is so well suited to the vastness and atmosphere of the Humber landscape.
As soon as we know the publishing date we will post it here.

A WOODCARVERS VIEW OF THE FIGUREHEAD OF THE 'RESOLUTION'
By OH Boyd

There has been much argument about the subject of the figurehead of Capt. Cook's second ship, the 'Resolution'. In this detailed paper which draws together much of the history of figureheads of that period and compares it with the drawings done by the ships artists who sailed with Cook, together with comparisons of contemporary ships. OH Boyd believes that there is no doubt as to the subject.
