OH Boyd Hosts the Saxby Annual Art Fair 2016

The weekend was very busy for OH Boyd who holds an annual art fair to display students work, together with demonstrations and advice, all in aid of Saxby all Saints Village Hall fund.

The committee is very active and to this end they organised the open gardens around the whole weekend with village scarecrows, Teas on the lawn at Saxby hall, plant sales, books sales, jams and pickles, brunches, you name it.

Friday evening at the Saxby Cinema, was a showing of the Kenneth Branagh version of Henry the fifth to introduce the theme of the weekend.
Saturday featured a mediaeval procession and period archery on the lawns at Saxby Hall.

In the evening OH Boyd gave a ticketed talk in the church about the battle of Agincourt with a display of armour, this was  followed by food, wine and a minstrel.

Sunday, to run in conjunction with the Saxby event, OH Boyd was the Judge in woodwork related categories at the Broughton show; a role he has fulfilled for many years, this is the first year they have coincided and the OH Boyd Trophy Cup was presented to the most outstanding entrant.

All in all, an incredibly busy time and had the weather been better, it would have been perfect!
